Born in Southeast Michigan; Aaron Poris is an Israeli-American journalist, podcaster, and artist.
He is currently an independent journalist and host of 'The Poris Pod' in the Detroit, Michigan area.
From 2015-2024, Aaron worked as a journalist in Israel – reporting on the latest and most pressing issues in the Middle-East; as well as shining a light on Israel's historic, complex, and beautifully diverse social fabric.
From 2023-2024, Aaron reported for The Media Line news, an American non-profit agency which covers the (MENA) Middle East and North Africa.
In the wake of Hamas' October 7, 2023 attacks, coverage included close reporting on the events and aftermath of the ensuing war.
From 2015-2023, Aaron worked at ILTV English News – eventually serving as the long-time Lead Anchor & Editor-in-Chief for both the "Israel Daily" broadcast, and the weekly program, "Insider."
Aaron was also the Executive Producer and Host of two podcasts.
– In 'Portraits of Israel', Aaron interviews a variety of guests while simultaneously painting their portraits.
– In 'Actually Serious' (in partnership with Audioversity and NoCamels), Aaron and co-host Channa Rifkin meet with a wide range of experts and personalities. Topics swing from the evolution of Arabic music, to hi-tech, medicine, beer.
Before moving to Israel, Aaron was a K-12 Fine-Arts Teacher, proudly serving the Michigan community where he and his family live today.
